Michael John Godley - EFSPI President 1996-7

We report with regret the death of Mick Godley on 5th March after a four-year fight with cancer. Mick graduated with first class honours in statistics from Bath University in 1970. He spent the greater part of his career working for ICI (later Zeneca and AstraZeneca) where he recently occupied senior management positions within the pharmaceuticals business in Cheshire. Mick devoted a great deal of his time and energy to Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry (PSI). He served as Chairman of PSI from 1993 to 1995 and was subsequently appointed an Honorary Life Member. He represented the UK on the Council of the European Federation of Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry (EFSPI) from 1995 to 1998, serving as Chairman from 1996 to 1997. Mick is survived by his wife, Evelyn, and his two daughters.
