Owkin is seeking a Senior Biostatistician to join our fast-growing and dynamic Artificial Intelligence and Medical company. Our close-knit team of data scientists, doctors, pharma industry experts and engineers offers high-growth potential for the right candidate. The role will allow for flexible work arrangements with travel to our headquarters in New York and Paris. You will apply your love of strategy, research skills and puzzle games to help creating our models of artificial intelligence trained on real-world data or experimental clinical trial data into the next generation of clinical  trials. That will accelerate the development of new breakthrough therapies, and improve patients’ outcomes at scale.

Overview and scope:

We are looking for a Senior Biostatistician to work with the clinical data team. In this role you will:

● Suggest/lead the implementation/conception of modern/innovative experimental design, inference methodologies, statistical models and data exploration with an emphasis on discovery research
● Provide strategic expertise and act as a high impact reference for all clinical trial related activities and research
● Be embedded in cross-functional teams

The position will be located our Paris-based R&D center or in our NYC headquarters. Candidate will report to the Clinical Group Lead. Candidates not meeting every criteria, but who can demonstrate exceptional skill in key areas, are invited to apply.


Essential Job Functions

● Originate strategy ideas and features to work on clinical trial optimisation with our machine learning models
● Drive the company clinical trial strategy
● Implement clinical trial new methodologies within US and  European  regulatory space
● Lead the development of presentation documents with pharma R&D and stats team to discuss partnerships and collaboration
● Work with partnership team to originate access to important data to reach this clinical trial strategy milestones
● Publish breakthrough papers in high impact peer reviewed journals

Qualifications:

● PhD or Master in Statistics/Biostatistics from an accredited University.
● At least 5 to 10 years of experience in clinical trial design in the pharmaceutical industry
● Strong Experience in clinical trial advanced design (e.g. adaptive), analysis and reporting to regulators
● Experience in post market studies and use of real world data
● Experience or interaction with new methodologies including machine learning algorithms
● Knowledge of current trends in pharmaceuticals, Knowledge of pharma and healthcare regulation, economics and legislation
● Attention to details
● Evidence of leadership, creativity, integrity, initiative, and problem solving
● Evidence of the ability to plan and implement
● Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
● Ability to work in a team environment
● Fluent English is mandatory, French while not required is a plus
