EFSPI Member Groups 2013
EFSPI, the European Federation of Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry, is open to national constituted groups of statisticians, who are working in or for the pharmaceutical industry. Thus, EFSPI is engaged in statistical aspects of research, development, production, and surveillance of both drugs and medical devices. The objectives of the Federation are (according to the EFSPI constitution):
After constitutional meetings since 1990, the Federation was officially launched in August 1993. For now, there are 10 member groups. Thus, 10 European countries are represented in EFSPI and can be reached by mailings organized by the respective national groups.

Description |
The Biostatistics section of the SBS/BVS (Société Belge de Statistique/Belgische Vereniging voor Statistiek) was founded in 1993. Its members are mainly statisticians working in or for the pharmaceutical industry, or in a statistics department at a Belgian university. The section's objectives are to organise meetings or courses on statistical issues pertinent to the pharmaceutical industry, to promote collaboration with academic experts and to open/maintain contacts with official authorities and other statistical associations. |

PSI is a non-profit organisation formed in 1977. PSI provides a forum for regular discussion of statistics and matters relating to the practice of statistics in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as promoting Good Statistical Practice within the industry. Members of PSI are statisticians working in all areas of the drug development process, including research, pre-clinical, clinical, production, quality control, marketing and market research; as well as academic statisticians, consultants and others interested in the application of Statistics within the industry. The majority of members are based in the UK. |
