EFSPI re-launches web-site

The European Federation of Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry (EFSPI) has re-launched its web-site, in order to keep its members up to date with its activities and with issues of interest to them in their professional work. The Federation is an umbrella organisation for 11 national groups of statisticians in the pharmaceutical industry, encompassing over 2000 members.

A Working Party of the Council of EFSPI masterminded the re-launch. Francois Aubin of Laboratoires Fournier (France) chaired the Working Party. Implementation of the web-site was undertaken by Claus Andersen and Karsten Schmidt of Spadille Biostatistik (Denmark). Council members from Italy, Netherlands and UK have also contributed to the development of the site.

The web-site contains information on the activities of EFSPI and its constituent national groups, as well as lists of courses and conferences. Links are included to other statistical organisations and to the sites of pharmaceutical regulatory bodies and key guidance documents. Advertisements of services and products of use to pharmaceutical statisticians will be added shortly, along with recruitment advertising. The address of the site is www.efspi.org.

EFSPI's current President, David Morgan of Ingenix Pharmaceutical Services (UK) expressed his thanks to the Working Party for their hard work. "For an organisation working across 11 countries, an up-to-date web-site is critical in keeping members aware of activities, and we have made good progress in achieving this objective. Our aim is for the EFSPI web-site to become an indispensable tool for pharmaceutical statisticians to do their job and develop their careers".
