Senior Biostatistics Manager / Associate Biostatistics Director

Your job as a Senior Biostatistics Manager / Associate Biostatistics Director
For the Clinical Data Science Department of our Development Organization in the Netherlands we are looking for a Senior Biostatistics Manager or Associate Biostatistics Director. In this role you will act as the Global Statistical Lead and/or Study Statistician for assigned compounds. You will work as a member of multi-disciplinary project teams and/or on study teams providing statistical and strategic input from early study design discussions through to final study report, submission and beyond. Main responsibilities include contributing to clinical development plans and study designs, representing the company on statistical matters in interactions with regulatory authorities and key opinion leaders, supervising other statisticians and vendors providing the statistical contribution to protocols, clinical study reports, analysis plans, programming of descriptive and inferential analyses, and providing sound statistical interpretation of results. You will also have the opportunity to coordinate on certain biometric activities with the Astellas offices in Japan and the US.

Your personal qualifications as a Senior Biostatistics Manager / Associate Biostatistics Director

  • You hold an MSc of PhD in statistics (or equivalent) with at least five years relevant experience in applying statistical methods in biomedical research (at least 8 years for the higher grade). Responsibilities, grading and remuneration will be set appropriate to experience level.
  • Knowledge of SAS required and knowledge of other statistical software preferred
  • Significant pharmaceutical industry experience

As a Senior Manager you have broad knowledge of statistical methods, understanding of industry practices related to the statistical analysis of clinical data and work with minimal supervision. You have significant experience working on study team. As an Associate Biostatistics Director you have advanced knowledge of statistical methods and work independently. You are experienced working on compound or disease level project teams and have a good understanding of entire drug development process with the ability to see the “big picture”.

You have excellent skills in communication, teamwork, organization and time management and organizational skills and the ability to multitask and plan toward deadlines. Besides that you have leadership skills and ability to delegate appropriately and provide direction to more junior Biostatisticians. Next to this you have experience in working in an international environment and you have demonstrated the ability to manage and influence across different locations, time zones and cultures and build global relationships.
